. we are down the street from the oakland zoo because that is where this alligator is, his name is mr. teeth. we want to tell you what we know about him. the 36-year-old man bought the alligator to commemorate the memory of two pock. they found the gator in this home and they had just moved in recently and they had several  dogs including a pitt bull. >> even when we went into the backyard we would carry a bat with us. >> because he were concerned about their dogs? >> yes. >> well, they also didn't expect this, 34 pounds of processed marijuana with an estimated value of $100,000 they were there for a check of his home for his parole. and he was arrested officially at 31 2:00 a.m. right now he is only facing drug possession and sale charges. he does list his occupation as a cashier although we are not sure where he worked. bail is set at $160,000. as far as mr. teeth, we do not know ex-boyfriend act condition. and at the oakland zoo we will get more on his condition and we will bring that to you on the morning news. claudine wong ktvu channel 2 morning news. >>> federal investigators

in the north bay, 56 for about 584 napa downtown san francisco is at 57 and oakland has an afternoon high of 60. 7 day around the bay shows mild weather returns as we start the next work week. 6:19 a.m. and here is traffic with george. >> there is a minor problem with bart this morning. there is police activity at the el plaza station that has been resolved. that was about 15 minutes ago. it did account for some delays would trains bound for fremont. 10 minutes delays could beat the case but they're wrapping that up. those are trained delays not necessarily passenger delays and so it could be slightly longer. i expected that we would not see the metering lights of the bay bridge this morning barring any sort of incident and so far we have been incident free. the traffic is reasonably light so there are no backups yet for the west bound ride. is that mattel bridges moved commute as well with drive times at 11 minutes. the golden gate bridge is a smooth and easy ride. light traffic for 80 westbound, 14 to 15 minutes drive time. 17 minutes out of the coyote valley for the 1 01 northbound had up to

the high street exit in oakland about 7:45 last night. the chp says he then tried to run across four lanes of traffic. he was hit by two cars and died on scene. both drivers did stop and try to help. that crash blocked all lanes northbound 880 for several hours. officers trying to figure out what caused the initial crash. >>> the cause of a crash that killed a woman in san jose remains a mystery this morning. police say the woman sped through a red light to make it to the highway 85 onramp but she missed the sharp turn and crashed into a pond just off the road. emergency crews had to call in a dive team to pull that woman from the car. she died at the hospital. police are still investigating the cause of that crash. >>> this morning san francisco police hoping to stir up some brand new leads in an unsolved murder case now five years old. we have sketches of two suspects accused of killing a man on january 7th, 2007. police say the man confronted him at a club and then shotç h in his suv near 13th street in san francisco. he later died at the hospital. today his mother and san francisco p

temperatures probably low 50s by the afternoon. inside the bay 53 degrees in san francisco, 55 oakland, 52 sausalito. check out your temperatures online at cbssf.com. let's check the roads with gianna. >>> thank you, lawrence. we have been monitoring this water main break in hayward which seems to be a problem as chp has now issued a sig alert in the area. so the water main break is located at jackson street and santa clara street right at that intersection just east of 880 and the 92 interchange. chp has shut down one lane of the eastbound 92 off-ramp at jackson because of flooding in the area. so they are advising you to avoid the area until they mop up. so it's jackson street and santa clara street but if you are coming off jackson off east 92, that right lane is now shut down. chp and hayward pd are on scene. we have live look coming up in the next few minutes to get you updated on this area. we'll do that as soon as the lanes open, as well. the san mateo bridge, westbound towards foster city no problems. eastbound into hayward not showing any delays right now, traffic looking good. an

in bay point looks good. the morning commute moving along well in oakland. 5, let's go back to the desk. >>> happening right now, a lot of cleaning up needs to be done after a hit-and-run crash in san francisco just hours ago. ktvu's claudine wong is there in san francisco with the latest on where a driver crashed into a caltran parking lot so what happened. >> reporter: the search is on the for the driver. father-in-law started as a traffic -- apparently it started as a traffic stop or attempted traffic stop and you can see the mess left behind. that power pole hanging there and you can see a pg&e crew just arriving. they are telling us these repairs could take a while and power is out. look at this, though, if we pan over, you can see when this car came crashing r went through a fence and ended up hitting this vehicle that's in the employee parking lot. the car that was involved in this has been towed away at this point but we want to show you video from earlier this morning when it was still here, and you can see the damage to it. chp says it started at 1:15 in the morning. the drive

a probation check and handed over to the oakland zoo. staff members at animals critically ill and died in the honor is now facing drug charges. >> police have arrested a suspect but almost $420,000 of marijuana stored in a container and sausalito. police were tipped off to the suspect as activities through an anonymous caller on the december 29th. the caller told police that the suspect's name which was nicholas papas and the marijuana was located at the marin is set up self storage. when police arrived and that on his car and container full of marijuana and also found cocaine. he faces controlled substance and marijuana cultivation charges and police they did not suspect it sold any of the marijuana. 22 year-old dexter oliver it as did not say much in the san francisco court room other than indicating he does not have the money for an attorney. he has been charged with 11 felonies including attempted murder, assault and torture. he is accused of failing to win battles with gasoline and throwing it on his girlfriend after a fight over close at a laundromat. bail is set for $10 million.

live from oakland with the details affected by these new laws, allie? >> reporter: first off, we will tell you about one of those new laws which crackdown on people who steel and sell copper wiring and other medals with public utility poles and it has been a big problem since the recession hit but what this law would do it quadruple the penalty for junk shop owners who buy this metal to $1,000 in penalties. driverless vehicles are a tech giant which will allow cars to be tested on highways as long as it is done in the case of a real human being and you could start seeing that in the coming year. and two new rules, one would prevent employers for using passwords for job application and in order to keep their job so employers would not be able to get access to employees' facebook accounts. the second would prohibit them from acquiring access to students accounts. all in all, 870 students are coming up with more rules and we will tell you about another new law coming up to protect student loan applications. >>> san francisco's minimum wage just went up. the minimum wage is $10.55 in

's check that drive with mike. >> looking at oakland. 880 had a nice burst of traffic over the last couple minutes it calmed down once again. i'll show you this shot and show you what's going on just north of there on the maps. we do still have the construction zone between high street and 980. both directions will have a lane or two blocked. bigger issue with the light traffic is when they move the crews, you'll find slowing because of the flashing lights and slower moving vehicles. we'll track that. no problems reported right here. as you get down toward the castro valley y a smooth flow of traffic. just got into chp a report of spilled material of some sort. sounds like some liquid is leaking down off the roadway into a drain. big rigs on the side of the road. you see 580 slowing through the area. there may be flashing lights already. we'll track that as well. your commute direction out of livermore moves smoothly but out of altamont pass you see slowing as that starts to build volume into livermore and a live look at san jose with a smooth flow but look at that more lights than we saw
